Thoughts: Legion first episode

Legion is the new TV series based on the Marvel Comics character Legion a.k.a David Haller a.k.a Professor Charles Xavier’s son. The series stars Dan Stevens in the leading role.

First of all, before going into this I wasn’t at all familiar with this character so I was going in dry. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the show. I watched it right before I had to go to work so I had time while I was working to let the show simmer in my mind, let me think about it and stew on it. So after all those hours thinking about it I had one burning thought in my head…… WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I want it to be known that I don’t at all mean that in a bad way but WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH?!?!?!?!?! This show is a mind twisting head fuck and I dig that. I watched this episode and but the end of it I have no idea where this guy is, what he’s doing or who’s around him. I feel that way because I don’t trust any of it. What’s real and what isn’t? That’s a great thing about this show is the character of David Haller suffers from a number of mental illnesses and it does a great job of taking you on his journey as he experiences it and as an audience member I am confused and frightened.

Something that concerns me though is that I hope it doesn’t go down the same path others before it have. Let me explain. I watched Lost every week for its first two seasons, then just fell off. I lost interest because they kept throwing twists and secrets and questions all over the place and I just stopped caring. Too long of not knowing what’s happening and I just couldn’t care anymore. I dont want that to happen to Legion. I dont want this show to shove it’s head too far up its own arse. Hopefully it doesn’t and I can’t wait for the next episode.

So in conclusion I’d suggest checking this show out just for the sheer weirdness of it alone. Thanks for reading this and keep it breezy.
